I'm glad to be born on September 21st, 1992. Although it's not considered as an auspicious day or any other special day, it's significant to the whole world. Let's take a glimpse at the importance behind it.
21/9/1981 - The United Nations General Assembly declared, in a resolution sponsored by the United Kingdom and Costa Rica,21/9 as the International Day of Peace(also known as World Peace Day) devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace.
YOUTH FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT
This is the theme of 2010 IDP, UN's Secretary-general has asked all the young people around the world to take a stand under this theme. The United Nations is looking for stories from young people around the world who are working for peace. The campaign slogan this year is "Peace=Future, The math is easy.”. So if you have any interesting stories about promoting peace, do not hesitate, share with everyone and enlighten the world with a mind of serenity!
Right, here's the Peace Day Global Broadcast, a multimedia event involving millions of people in countries around the world participating in parades, concerts, dance celebrations, exhibitions and educational events in celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace.
